Talk and Book Signing
With Joan Luise Hill, Author of “The Miracle Chase”
Friday, November 11th, 7:30 pm
Meeting for coffee one morning, three friends discover that each has an extraordinary story to tell. Katie survived a close encounter with a serial killer. Meb’s six months old daughter has been injured by a nanny and blinded, yet has survived and thrived. And they have all watched Joan’s son survive a catastrophic illness. Are these experiences miracles? The three friends begin a spiritual quest to find out more about the nature and mystery of miracles, and the Miracle Chase is on.
Over time, their quest becomes a tool for their own survival as the three women face personal crises and develop a new dimension to their friendship that sustains them. As their journey progresses, Joan, Katie and Meb make surprising discoveries, not only about God and miracles, but also about themselves.
Come meet the author and learn more about how to chase your own miracles. No charge.
“… a wonderful book… enjoy the beauty, courage and ‘spiritual reverie’ these women have shared with the world. It’s an honor to explore and chase the mystery of miracles with them.” —Priscilla Warner, co-author of New York Times best seller, the Faith Club.

Winter Solstice Ritual for Engaging the Light
With Jon Rasmussen
Luminata is hosting a winter solstice gathering as a focus for awareness, and as a way of drawing light into our lives. Local shaman Jon Rasmussen will lead a ritual in the tradition of a shamanic journey. The winter solstice is traditionally a time for celebrating the dawn of new light. Christmas and Hanukah are festivals of light and new birth. Tonight Jon will talk about how we can draw down the light of the eternal spirit to guide and inspire our lives. The source of light is the divine spark—the eternal presence that centers all individuals. By connecting with the inner spark of spirit, we find the source of light, love and truth that will help us to become forces for good in the world. Jon will lead us in a solstice ceremony employing traditional shamanic ritual tools for drawing down light and blessings upon our world.
Jon Rasmussen is a well-known local shaman and author of “Dreaming Your World into Being.” He has an eclectic background of studies and training, from Tai, Chi, Chi Gung and Reiki, to Yoga, Naturopathy, and Neurolinguistic Programming. His shamanic studies include apprenticeship with world famous shaman Alberto Villoldo, and tutelage in the Andes with the mysterious Q’ero Indians of Peru. Jon has a growing national reputation as a carrier of the authentic shamanic tradition of the Americas.
There is no charge for the event. Love offerings accepted.
